Material & Characteristics
The systainer® is completely made of ABS-plastics (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene).
The systainer® stands out due to the ABS-plastics in the following characteristics:

high mechanical strength and rigidity

high impact resistance in coldness: 70 kJ/m2 without breakage at –40ºC

high dimensional stability under cold and heat: utilisation from -40ºC to +70ºC, temporarily up to +85ºC

utilisation from -40ºC to +70ºC, temporarily up to +85ºC
-
relatively low water absorption: 10-13 mg or rather 0,2-0,26%
-
high chemical resistance against diluted acids and caustic solutions, saturated hydrocarbonsand carburetor fuels with an ambient temperature of +20ºC over years and with an ambient temperature of +50ºC over months: Sulfuric acid up to 50%
-
ABS falls into the category of thermoplastic resins which can be remelted 100% and makes the systainer® an eco-friendly product which can be recycled completely
